Do you and your family have a favorite summer getaway that is no more than a day's drive from the Capital District? In this economy, I am interested in hearing how other families "get away from it all" without breaking the bank. Or perhaps it is the one thing every year you splurge on. The Summer did go fast. Fall is my favorite time of year to go camping. Around here New Mexico we call it "Indian Summer" the weather is warm and beautiful.
My family and I have been going to Indiana Beach located in Monticello,Indiana. It has great camping available, but it also has plenty of other campers that have children. This is a plus because my kids get to make new friends every summer. The best part is there is a boardwalk with amusement park rides.
