At the Schenectady Museum's Robotics Workshop on Aug. 11, children will learn how, using household objects and craft supplies, they can create their own robot.

The Schenectady Museum is offering a Robotics Workshop for children Saturday, Aug. 11, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., presented by science author Kathy Ceceri.

Children will learn how, using household objects and craft supplies, they can create their own robot. Ceceri is the author of “Robotics: Discover the Science and Technology of the Future,” and a senior editor of Wired.com’s GeekMom blog.

After the Robotics Workshop, from 1-2:30 p.m., there will be a FETCH! Lab activity using ideas from Ceceri’s book. Ceceri will be signing copies of her book from 1-2 p.m. This event is for ages 7 and up and costs $12 for members and $15 for non-members.
