There’s no need for kids to utter that dreaded summer break phrase – “I’m bored” – with a number of area businesses taking part in the Kids Skate Free and Kids Bowl Free Programs, in addition to dollar movies at two local theaters and free movies at Bow Tie Cinema in Schenectady.
Under the Skate for Free program, children are eligible to receive two free passes per week by signing up at www.kidsskatefree.com. With Kids Bowl Free, registered kids receive two free games of bowling all summer long. Local participating businesses include Sunset Lanes in Albany, Del Lanes in Delmar, Burnt Hills Lanes, Town N’ Country Lanes in Guilderland, and Boulevard Bowl and Sportsman’s Bowl in Schenectady. Through the summer months, both Crossgates Stadium 18 and Clifton Park Stadium 10 are taking part in the Summer Movie Express, where moviegoers of all ages can watch selected G- or PG-rated movies for only a dollar on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. A portion of proceeds from the Summer Movie Express will be donated to the Will Rogers Institute.
